Portland's Holiday Tree arrived a couple days ago..... in parts. They find a beautiful tree, cut it down, take most of the branches off, bring the trunk to town on one truck and the branches on a second, deliver it to the square, put it up and reassemble it.
Maybe I'm missing something, but it all strikes me as silly.

on Dec 24Yes it's kind of a weird way to do it, but there is a reason. If they left the bottom branches on, it wouldn't fit on the truck. Plus when they would wrap the tree for transport, it has a chance of breaking the branches also. So if they cut them off, they can get a clean cut, and be able to match them to the tree more seamless.

on Nov 13What a process...and think how time consuming it is to put the branches back on! Besides...it is way too early for Christmas trees! At least let us celebrate Thanksgiving!
