Monthly quantities of cooking necessities, rice, beans, oil, sugar, chicken, bread and some other basics are available for about $2. As a purchase a made, the card is marked for the month. Unfortunately, the monthly quantities usually only last about a week. For the rest of the month it comes down to bartering or black-market creativity.
